Intro to Relief Printmaking

Service Description

Come one, come all to a full survey of relief printmaking processes! Whether you’re looking for a fun way to spend the day, are interested in making your own tea towels or holiday cards, or want to expand your practice into a new medium - this is the class for you. We’ll go over the variables which make printmaking such an expansive form of artmaking, and you’ll make your own block from start to finish. Walk away with a plethora of prints, and all the knowledge you need to make more on your own. This is a two-part course. On June 1, we'll go over printmaking concepts and techniques. You'll transfer your image onto the block, and get started! Over the next week, you'll finish carving the block on your own. On June 8, it's a printmaking party! I'll have lots of colors for you to choose from, and we'll have a grand ole time getting inky and exploring the possibilities of print.
